FoamFest

Brandon managed to convinced some coworkers to participate in a little run with him.  It was a 5K Foam Fest, and if the word foam didn't get you excited hearing about all of the obstacles probably wouldn't make you want to run it either.
My kids had fun with the foam before it began.
 They got soaked.
Don't get the foam in your eyes, it stings.
The foam also smelled, especially after it dried.
Here they are, all ready to run.  They even had matching shirts.
The logo on the back says Local Swashbucklers and it combines the logos from Channel 8 and 3.
 The start.
We did cheer for them as they ran around the track before heading out to the obstacles.

Most of the obstacles were back in the sand dunes and there was no way I was going to drag the kids around to try and find them.  But we did watch them go through a couple.
The mud.  I think they overdid it a little with the water but Brandon said it was really difficult to run through.
Brandon tried to run around this part, but they had to crawl under the caution tape, in the mud and water.
Trying so hard, but not really getting anywhere.
Brittany was such a good sport.
I was egging them on, hoping one of them would end up in the mud, but there was some mud flinging.
Giant slip n slide, which helped get the mud off.  Good thing or Brandon would have been walking home.
 So graceful.
One of the first things they were told was to not ingest the foam.  But the last thing they had to go through was this giant foam tunnel, sliding on their stomach.  They wasn't anyway not to ingest the foam.
 Brittany ingested the foam.
Brandon and Brittany finished first and then we waited for Jeff and Trevor.
That foam monster is Jeff, almost at the finish line.
If you look really closely you can see Trevor in the foam, but you have to look really closely.
Jeff and Trevor also survived, but they did ingest the foam.
The mighty swashbucklers amidst the foam.
