Awefome

Before you say anything, I am aware that the title is not an actual word.  Bear with me and you will understand.  A little while ago Britton was climbing on my lap and I asked her if she was cute.  Normally she answers yes, sometimes she tells me she is cool, but this time she said "No, I awefome(awesome)."  (The title is making a little sense now right?)  I laughed, because it was cute and hilarious, and she giggle and said it again and again.  I do think she is awesome and I think that the rest of my family is awesome too, so I thought I would tell you a few of the awesome things that have been happening around here.

William:  William is awesome.  He is breezing through school, banging away on the piano, and overcoming some of his fears.  Not quite 9 months ago he broke his arm, had to have surgery, and then spent three weeks with a cast on.  Now he has regained most of the mobility back in his elbow, it isn't perfect but he can bend it almost as far as his other arm and can get it mostly straight.  He has made it all the way across the monkey bars, something he was working on before he broke his arm, and he is riding his bike.  He is a little cautious but he is riding.

Caitlyn: Caitlyn decided she was ready to stop sucking her thumbs.  Yes, thumbs.  She has been an equal opportunity thumb sucker since she was three months old.  I sewed some thumb guards for her and she has pretty much broken the habit.  She is also able to sound out simple words and has read some small books to me.  So I think she is awesome.

Britton: Britton has been potty training.  I didn't want to do it, but she had a really bad diaper rash that cleared up when I let her run around bare bummed.  When she was wearing nothing she was willing to go to the bathroom so we started.  She has her good days and her not so great days but I noticed last week that I was only washing one or two of her diapers per load and those were just from the night.  So yeah, she is awefome.

Bradley: Bradley is crawling around and sleeping through most nights.  I know, he is ten months old so he should be doing those things, but since I am benefiting from it I have to say it is awesome.

Brandon: Brandon works like crazy, is sending out resumes and applications, just got called as Elders quorum president, and is still excited to hear about our day at home.  I love him to pieces and I think he is pretty awesome.

Me: I hate to talk about myself but I guess I might as well tell you.  I set a goal this year to run a 5K.  I don't enjoy running but having our treadmill made running the most convenient because I could do it after putting the kids to bed.  With Brandon's encouragement and support  I worked my way up to actually running, not walking, three times a week.  I have lost 22 pounds and two pant sizes, so I had to get new pants which brought up the whole I hate shopping thing again, and last Saturday I finished a 5K in 35 minutes.  So I guess I am awesome too.

Sorry this post is so long.  I just thought I would follow Britton's example of positivity and say, "I awefome."
