Balance Shift
So I took the kids to my parents' house during spring break by myself. I had planned to take the kids during summer break but I was worried about gas prices, still am in fact. Brandon doesn't get vacation time during his first year so the soonest he could have made the drive with us would be October. The school district has a nice fall break, two weeks in October, which is a nice time to visit Idaho, but that wouldn't work out. My parents were excited to see us, really excited to see the kids, but they didn't know the reason I wasn't willing to drive to their house in October. I refuse to drive that far with a new baby. Yep, we are expecting again in September. We didn't tell anyone until the trip to Idaho, we didn't even tell the older kids until the week we left. It took me awhile to find a doctor, mainly because going to the doctor isn't my favorite thing and in the five years we were in Idaho Falls I was too lazy to find a new doctor since we were still within a 30 min drive. But I do like my new doctor. His office is connected to the hospital by a skywalk and the hospital is a ten minute drive from our house. That was the big thing for Brandon, I was considering a different doctor from a friend's recommendation but the hospital where I would have delivered was farther away. I have had a decent pregnancy so far, I am well aware that I have never had anything to complain about because I have easy pregnancies. My ultrasound at 20 weeks was perfectly normal, measuring right along with my due date and everything present that the doctor was looking for to measure and such. And we were able to see that we are having another boy. So the balance in a our family will shift to the boy side. I was a little surprised just because during my first trimester I just felt icky all day long, just like I did with both of our girls but I didn't experience that with William or Bradley. William was excited to hear the news, the girls, especially Caitlyn, took a little longer to warm to the idea. Bradley just has no idea what is going on. I am not looking forward to the summer heat, since it is already as warm as I am used to for the summer, but since our school district starts really early we will have a month to get used to school before this little one arrives. My mom did thank me for grouping things for her. William's baptism is at the end of September and the baby is due in the middle of the month so she and dad were headed this way anyway.
